From a young age, children need to learn how to give, take turns, and share. Y Soccer helps young people to develop these important skills while enhancing their confidence as they grow as individual players and as part of a team.
Through our program, kids learn soccer fundamentals and improve balance, coordination, and endurance in this popular sport. Players will practice ball handling, passing, shooting, and footwork skills, as well as concepts of offense, defense, cooperation, and teamwork. The concept of good sportsmanship is woven into the fabric of all that we do.
Because the game is played with no hands, soccer players develop a more flexible cerebral cortex. Focusing on the feet only supports the plasticity of the human brain and its ability to learn and adapt through training – making this an ideal sport for mind and body.
In Y sports, every child makes the team and plays at least half of every game. Teams will engage in competitive games officiated by Y referees.
