As we bid summer farewell and fall settles in, our pool at the Bear Levin Studer Family YMCA remains open and ready for action! Living in Florida, where water surrounds us, swimming is not just a pastime—it's a vital skill that everyone should master, especially as we head into the winter months. Did you know that drowning is the leading cause of death for children aged 1-4 and the second leading cause for those aged 5-14? That’s why it’s crucial to learn how to swim and keep practicing throughout the year

At our facility, we believe that swimming lessons should be available to everyone, and we offer a variety of classes designed for all ages and skill levels. Our year-round swim programs ensure your family stays safe and confident in the water.

Swim Starters (6 months - 3 years)
For our youngest swimmers, our Swim Starters program focuses on getting your child comfortable in the water. We emphasize essential skills and safety practices that will help them stay safe in and around the water.

Preschool Swim (Ages 3 - 5)
In our preschool classes, we build on comfort and introduce basic stroke techniques and endurance. Our goal is to make swimming fun while instilling important safety habits.

Youth Swim (Ages 6 - 12)
For children aged 6-12, we cover everything from water comfort to advanced techniques. Our Aqua Conditioning class helps kids develop stamina, with a focus on swimming 200 yards of each stroke while maintaining proper form.

Adult Swim Classes (Ages 13+)
For those 13 and older, we offer beginner and intermediate classes tailored to your individual goals. Whether you’re starting from scratch or looking to refine your technique, we’ve got you covered.

Safety is at the heart of all our lessons. We incorporate fun and engaging safety practices, from learning to wait for permission before entering the water to understanding boat safety and proper lifejacket use.

This fall, make a splash with our swimming lessons and ensure your family is prepared for a safe and enjoyable time in the water. Join us in keeping the spirit of summer alive—because swimming is always in season in Florida!
