Staff Spotlight - In Memory of Rosie

Our YMCA family is saddened by the untimely passing of our beloved instructor and Y team member, Rosie Orlando, on Dec. 13.

Rosie was a popular Spinning instructor and member of our Engagement Team downtown. She also worked with the Parkinson's class at BLS, supporting members in their fight of that terrible disease.

Rosie's vibrant smile and passion for fitness encouraged so many of us. Her impact is captured by a message shared by her sister in reference to her work with the Parkinson's class: "Rosie spoke of this particular class with such admiration for all. She felt the love in the room, and it showed her the courage of people who could just give in, and instead choose joy and effort to feel good. This wonderful group helped her without even knowing."

All are invited to share in a Celebration of Life on Sunday, Jan. 12, at Chapel of Eastern Gate Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home. Visitation is at 2 pm, followed by a memorial service at 3 pm.
