Every year, the Administration for Community Living (ACL) observes Older Americans Month, guided by a special theme. The 2023 theme is Aging Unbound – focusing on how the communitybenefits when older adults remain engaged, independent, and included in their communities.

  • Stay Engaged in your Community

Everyone benefits when people are connected and involved. Stay active and continue to grow that knowledge through classes, family programs, and creative activities within the community.

  • Form Relationships

Building and maintaining relationships is essential for social and emotional well-being. Relationships can enhance your quality of life by introducing new ideas and unique perspectives. Invest time with people to discover deeper connections with family, friends, and community members.

  • Maintain your Independence

Invite creativity and purpose into your life by trying new activities in your community to bring in more growth, joy, and energy. Practicing independence helps to maintain your independence.
