September Mission Spotlight

Family Dinners Church exists to create a healthy family by connecting people to Christ and one another at the dinner table. People are welcomed and encouraged into a relationship because the initial connection is in a construct of familiarity: the dinner table. At the dinner table, life happens: people discuss their day, concerns, victories, and challenges. In this context, we introduce people to Christ through Biblical stories, which leads to discussions over dessert and coffee.

Family Dinners Church is diverse. It's led by Pastor Karlis Burton, a retired Naval aviator and minister for over 18 years. Pastor Karlis and his team, consisting of a doctor, two lawyers, several teachers, and retirees, tirelessly give of their time, talent, and treasure to support approximately 60 people each week, including several families. Since the pandemic, the team meets to deliver lunches to our less fortunate friends each Sunday in an expression of love for our community.

At the core of it all, FDC values the soul of the one, which is worth all effort. Transparency, so we can minister to each other’s needs and relationship over rules, which leads to heart change vice behavior modification. “Our values lead us to share our possessions and hearts. We grow together, because family is family is more than a biological connection.” This is what is readily apparent at Family Dinners Church: it is our identity.

Our Mission: To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all.
