April Staff Spotlight

Katianna Tyler is 24years old. She been married five years and has the sweetest 3-year-old little boy. They moved to Navarre five years again when her husband was stationed at Hurlburt.


How long have you worked with the Y?

She has been working at the Betty J. Pullum YMCA since October 2016.


What is your role at the YMCA?

Her role at the YMCA is Before-school and Afterschool Counselor, Bus Driver and Summer Camp Counselor.


What is the most interesting part of your job?

What she finds interesting about her job is that she gets to make an impact on the lives of children every day.


If could be an animal, what wouldyou be and why?

If she could be any animal, she would be a lion because lion’s traits are courage, strength, and decisiveness.


What you really do at the YMCA?

Her job at the YMCA is way more than just a counselor. It is helping with homework, teaching a child to tie their shoe, bandaging up a skinned knee, comforting a child when they miss their parents, and so much more. Her biggest goal as a YMCA counselor is to make a positive impact on every child who comes through our programs.
