April From the Director

We are the YMCA of Northwest Florida.

The YMCA has always been committed to mission and community when the tough work of recovery begins. In the meantime, we need your help. Your support can help us deliver emergency services, support our wonderful staff and sustain our organization so we can jump back into action when the time comes.

During these times of uncertainty, one thing that is certain is that the Y is here for good -for our members, for our community, for you.

As of March 23, we have converted our services to assist those in need. We are providing emergency childcare for children of healthcare workers, first responders and other essential personnel. As these school-age children return to learning via virtual school, we are presently working with school district personnel to support virtual school.

This week, we will begin making meal deliveries to seniors who are unable to pick up meals at senior dining sites. We're also exploring ways to support Center for Independent Living clients and help Feeding the Gulf Coast. We will host a blood drive for One Blood at the Bear Levin Studer YMCA and the Betty J. Pullum YMCA on April 22.

We’re honored to be able to help the community during a time like this. Because of you, we can successfully support out community.

We are asking you to stay with the Y. Your membership has always been about more than access to a building, it’s about making your contribution to a stronger, healthier community.

Ways to help, if your situation allows:

1. Maintain your membership. All April membership dues will automatically be converted into charitable donations to the Y to support mission critical services.

2. If you would like to make an additional donation to support, our work, you can give online here or email Andrea Rosenbaum.

Until we see you again, stay well.

Our Mission: To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all.
