The Bear Levin Studer Y will host the Junior League's Kids in the Kitchen program for the next three months. Children ages 9-13 are eligible to attend. All sessions will run from 5:30-7 pm in the Gulf Power Demo Kitchen.
Thursday, September 13- Children recognize serving sizes; learn about food labels; talk about healthy dinners; create good-for-you veggie pizzas.
Thursday, October 11- Children learn about the limits on “whoa foods” (Halloween candy); learn what makes a healthy lunch; create a healthy lunch- butternut squash and quinoa salad.
Thursday, November 8 -Children learn the daily foods checklist; create a healthy plate collage; talk about healthy breakfasts, create yogurt parfaits.
