The Y is for Yes

Ever get tired of traffic congestion, bumpy roads, flooding streets, no sidewalks, or worse - no healthy and safe place for your children, grandchildren, or family to spend their free time?

We do too!

At the YMCA, we agree that Santa Rosa County shouldn’t be that way.

That’s why theY is for YESin supporting the Yes for a Penny Referendum on Oct. 8.

If passed, the Yes for a Penny Referendum will provide much-needed funding for important projects across Santa Rosa County.

These projects include wider, safer roadways to ease traffic congestion, and upgraded infrastructure to improve drainage and flood control. The penny will help pay for upgraded equipment for emergency personnel, including better communications, and new patrol cars and fire trucks.

Finally, the referendum will help fund important quality of life projects, such as bike paths, outdoor recreation facilities, expanded football and soccer fields, and even new community fitness facilities.

If passed, the referendum will create opportunities for the YMCA to partner with Santa Rosa County on new or updated facilities to provide health and wellness, childcare, water safety, and senior programs.

Just imagine...what if our community had more options for quality afterschool care, or a place to take swim lessons or a facility to work out and spend time with your family? What if there were places where seniors could go to stay active, healthy, meet new friends, and manage their health and wellness?

Wouldn’t that be great for everyone in Santa Rosa County?

And remember, these projects will be funded by an extra penny-per-dollar spent on most retail purchases made in our county. It’s paid for by visitors and tourists - not just residents - so everyone pays their fair share, andour community wins.

THAT’S WHY THE Y IS FOR YES. HERE’S HOW YOU CAN HELP:
