Meet Erik! - Maintenance Director at the Pullum YMCA

Erik has been with the Betty J. Pullum YMCA since August 2, 2021.

Erik is a transplant from California. He says that he is very happy with his choice to move to Florida, even though Hurricane Sally happened just a few weeks after his arrival. Erik and his partner, Kim, enjoy getting out to the beach and trying out new restaurants. They're always open to new recommendations, so make sure to stop by and let him know of some of your favorite places along the Gulf Coast.

What is your role at the YMCA?
Maintenance Director at the Betty J. Pullum YMCA

What is the most interesting part of your job?
I enjoy the opportunity to meet and interact with members.I find them to be informed and very interested in helping in any way they can, through their own experience in life as well as their experiences at the YMCA.

If you could be an animal, what wouldyou be and why?
I think I would be a dolphin. They have a measurable intelligence. They are not feared by humans, but they are feared by sharks. They roam free and seem to be happy all the time.

What you really do at the YMCA?
I do regular walk arounds and repair anything I see or that has been brought to my attention. I provide preventative maintenance to ensure a safe, secure and functional environment for our staff and members. I'm always looking for ways to improve our operation for a more enjoyable and efficient YMCA.

Our Mission: To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all.
