She’s our Smart Start “Guru” and continues to strive to be a role model for all the wellness team. Melanie is an outgoing and bubbly mother of two who truly enjoys helping others achieve the highest versions of themselves. We're honored to have her on the wellness team!

What is your role at the YMCA?I am a Wellness Coach! I currently play a significant role in our Wise Woman Program, guiding and motivating them to look beyond their barriers to achieve their vision of wellness. I also assisted in partnership with the Council of Aging at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in personally delivering over 600 meals to senior citizens of Escambia County.

What is the most interesting part of your job?Introducing myself to new members who are excited to get started. Gives me the opportunity to motivate them and educate them on aspects of wellness that they may not have thought of before.

If you could be an animal, what would you be and why?I would be an octopus, so I could do eight things at one time.

What do you really do at the YMCA?Ensure the Wellness Floor is clean and running smoothly and lots of member engagement.

Our Mission: To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all.
