November - Program Corner

We're excited to share that our YMCA Reads program is now active at four public school sites: Ferry Pass Elementary, Global Learning Academy, Sherwood Elementary, and West Pensacola Elementary. Currently, we are serving 100 students in grades 1-4 and they've received over 1,600 hours of reading instruction and mentoring services.A parent in our program recently shared: "Thank you for the great work and for the help you give us. I love to hear the progress he is already making."

The heart of YMCA Reads is our incredible volunteers. If you're passionate about making a difference in a child's life and can spare a few hours a week, we invite you to become a volunteer mentor. Your dedication can transform a child's life. You can also be part of this positive impact by participating in our book drive located in the BLS lobby.

Your support makes a real difference in our community's young readers. Together, we're empowering the next generation through literacy.

"We want to take a moment to shine a light on the incredible dedication of one of our outstanding volunteers, Bill! In just one month, Bill has generously contributed over 26 hours of his time to Ferry Pass Elementary, making a significant impact on our school and community. Bill's support empowers our students and staff and helps us create a better learning environment for everyone."
