You may have seen Tammy up on the Wellness Floor at the Bear Levin Studer YMCA.

Tammy is originally from Corpus Christi, Texas, and has moved around a lot with the military. She’s lived in Pensacola twice. She and her family first moved here in 1997 and came back in 2005, when they decided to make it their home. Tammy loves to run and has completed five of the World Major Marathons: Boston, Chicago, New York, Berlin, and Tokyo! Her favorite part about running is the peace and meditation that it brings into her life.

How did you get into fitness?

Tammy has always been into fitness. In fact, she went to college on a track scholarship. When she lived in Japan, she started taking group fitness classes and LOVED Cardio Kickboxing. Her favorite part of the classes is the high energy and intensity that it brings.

Her favorite instructor encouraged her to go outside of her comfort zone and become a group fitness instructor…
