YMCA Membership Summer Reminders

As summer arrives and kids, big and small, are out of school for the summer, we want to remind our members of a few things when making plans to visit the Y.

  • Remember that your membership is not transferable. You may not "share" your membership with another person. If you allow someone else to sign in using your information, you jeopardize your membership.
  • Our guest policy is flexible, allowing members to bring in one guest per visit with a photo ID that includes a date of birth. You may bring in the same guest more than once, but the guest policy is a chance to try out the Y, not a 2-for-1 deal. If you bring the same guest a few times, we will ask that guest to join.
  • A guest must be 18 or older to sign the liability waiver required to visit the Y. A guest who is under the age of 18 must secure a parent signature on a waiver for entry. (waiver).
  • If you have an immediate family member visiting you, ask the Welcome Center about a guest pass.

In addition, please be reminded of our rules for youth in our branches:

  • Children under age 10 must be checked into KidZone, enrolled and participating in a staff-supervised youth program (such as swim lessons), or be in a family program with direct parental supervision.KidZone use requires a Household Membership or a separate fee.
  • Youth ages 10-12 years may earn privileges in the Wellness Center after completing an orientation and may participate in some group exercise classes with a parent. (See your branch schedule for details.)
  • Children age 5 and under must have a parent in the pool with them. Parents must be on the pool deck for children ages 6-12. All children 12 and under will be swim tested and identified with a green or red arm band.
  • Youth ages 13and older have full membership privileges in the branch, including the pool, without parent supervision. The only exception is the free weight area, which is available to those 16 and older.

We welcome guests and families to our branches to enjoy opportunities to be active together. Our rules regarding guests and youth are in place to help us ensure that everyone has a safe experience. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation. If you need any clarification, please see a staff member.

Our Mission: To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all.
