August Exercising Together

BACK TO CLASS

Group fitness continues to be a driving force in motivation for wellness at the YMCA. Not only is group fitness a resource to help you reach your wellness goals, it’s also a way to get plugged into a community of like-minded individuals. Right now, opportunities for group fitness at the Y expand across three different platforms (in-person classes, outdoor, and live classes via Zoom).

Are you ready to come back to an in-person classes? The August schedule brings ample group exercise offerings. Here is what we're doing for all of our group fitness participants:

  1. Each room is thoroughly cleaned multiple times a day.
  2. Most equipment is available and provided to accommodate current class sizes with the exception of blankets, bolsters and sandbags.
  3. Capacity for each class is taken into consideration, as each room has been staged to allow us to adhere to social distancing guidelines.
  4. Members should reserve a spot for all in-person classes This will guarantee you have a space and ensure we are practicing social distancing in our rooms, for the safety of all. Click here to make a reservation.

We understand the impact of these uncertain times and strive to continually support you in your wellness journey. Several instructors have taught virtual classes for the past four months. Together they are reaching over 100 participants each month. For those of us who aren’t quite ready to attend in-person classes, these classes are still available. There is no additional fee to gain access to these classes. Schedule and booking directions can be found on the home page. We also offer on-demand classes, making such popular formats as Les Mills programming as well as instructors you’re familiar with just a click away. These classes are ready when you are and vary in length and intensity.

Instructors and members have dearly missed the energy of exercising in a group. If at any point you would like to see how the facility is managing social distancing, cleaning procedures, gym use and classes, we encourage you to come in and take a good look around (with your mask on, of course). We are aware that COVID-19 has made coming to class look and feel different. Our commitment to your safety and well-being as you come in to take class is a high priority. We can stay stronger together, wherever we are.

Our Mission: To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all.
