James (Jimmy) Skaggs has been a part of the Betty J. Pullum YMCA since January of 2009. When James and his wife, Joyce, noticed the YMCA was close to their home in Navarre, and that there was a swimming pool, they decided to become members at the Pullum Y.

After spending many years at Pensacola State College, James decided it was time to retire. The best part of retired life? Being able to spend time with his family – specifically his grandchildren and his great-grandchildren. He also loves to dance, especially the jitterbug! When asked who his biggest inspiration is, Jimmy says his father.

If Jimmy could have one meal for the rest of his life, he says it would be Whataburger!

Our Mission: To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all.
